This moisturizer does contain silicones (Dimethicone and Panthenol) and some other ingredients I have trouble pronouncing, but most of the ingredients are natural, and for me the price was right. I have been using this moisturizer for the past few months and its been working well for me. It's has a thin consistency that smooths on easily and feels comfortable on my skin. And I really dig the fresh aloe vera scent :)

Since I purchased this moisturizer Alba has re-done the packaging, so it looks a bit more like this:
Overall I wish this product didn't contain silicones, but I do like it a lot and would purchase it again!

I've never tried Alba, but I've been intrigued by the brand for a long time! I'm a little surprised that there's ooky stuff in here, given that the label says "natural", but that just goes to show how subjective all this stuff is...
ReplyDeleteHave you tried using a carrier oil for a moisturizer? I use an organic sunflower oil. I like it because sunflower oil is the only ingredient and I don't have to worry about harmful chemicals like dimethicone.
ReplyDeleteI purchase it from my local health food store or I go to Mountain Rose Herbs (which is in Oregon where I am from, you can look it up if you are interested).
@Sari - Yeah, I've learned to read a product's ingredient list before I believe its label :P I've seen parabens and silicones in quite a few Alba products, though I think some products may have been re-formulated when Alba re-did their packaging.
